Am I eligible to vote?

Answer

As long as you are a Canadian citizen who is 18 years of age or older on May 30, 2017 and you have lived in Nova Scotia for a period of six months or longer prior to April 30, 2017 then you are eligible to vote in the upcoming provincial election.

Like all other Nova Scotia voters as a post-secondary student you are entitled to vote in the electoral district in which your main residence is located. Since many college and university students have two residences - one when at school, and one when not at school - students must choose one or the other as their principal residence for the purpose of the Nova Scotia election. You can then vote on election day, at the advance polls, at any Returning Office, or by mail as described above.
