How do I register to vote?

Answer

During an election, you can contact your your local Returning Officer to see if you are currently on the Nova Scotia Election Voters List. You will be asked to provide personal information, such as your date of birth, in order to determine whether you are the elector wishing to check their information. If you are not already in the Register, you can easily download an application or one can be sent to you via mail.

You can also register when you go to vote. While you don't need ID to vote, you will be asked for identification with your name and civic address when you register. If you don't have identification, you may swear an oath and declare your name and address.See the “What ID do I need to vote?” section for more information.
