Where do I vote?

Answer

Most people vote in the electoral district where they live. Students who live away from home while at university or college, may vote in either the electoral district where they usually live when not at school or the district where they live while at school, whichever one they declare to be their residence in Nova Scotia.

If you cannot travel to your polling station or a returning office or are temporarily living outside of Nova Scotia, you may vote through a write-in ballot by completing an application. Once your application is approved, you will be given a write-in ballot. The last day to apply for a write-in ballot by mail is May 20, 2017. In order to be counted, the completed ballot must be received at your local returning office by 8:00pm on May 30, 2017.
